Hoping to Connect: Charlie Croker and Toganmain Memories

Ian Rowles reached out with a family story tied to Toganmain. His father-in-law, Gordon Charles “Charlie” Croker, was born in 1907 in Crookwell, NSW, and came from a family of sheep farmers.

In the 1930s and ’40s, Charlie likely travelled the state as a wool presser and eventually a classer, often working alongside Kevin Sharwood, who would become his brother-in-law.

Although Ian has no records definitively linking Charlie or Kevin to Toganmain, their family’s oral history points strongly to it. Ian remains hopeful that someone might remember their names or have records that could confirm their connection.
